This weekend, the team stumbled across two very cool pieces that we are particularly excited about. Both from brands that many team members either own or hope to own in the near future, these new products from watch company Nooka and vintage camera company Leica are sure to be at the top of the list.

If you are an avid Gmail user, you may have noticed a new feature has been added to your standard contact list. Last week Google took the leap to add Google Voice to its Gmail product. This new feature lets you call any of your contacts that are online (instead of using GChat) or via land/mobile phone free of charge within the United States and Canada. With more than 1 million calls made within the first 24 hours of the product's launch, is Google on to something? And does Skype, the largest digital mobile service, need to worry?

If you've been around a computer or in front of a TV today, you've probably heard all about the iPhone 4. Apple's latest update to its flagship phone is due out June 24, and its packed full of new features. One of the most interesting of those features is video capability. With the inclusion of two video cameras, one on each side of the device, the iPhone 4 seems like it could be a legitimate video conferencing tool. Apple's website advertises the video feature as a friend-to-friend tool, not an asset for businesses, but it's logical to think the next step could be the iPhone as a valuable tool for businesses engaging in video conferencing.

It seems Apple can't do anything these days without inciting endless rumor, hype and innuendo, and the upcoming release of its iPhone 4G is no exception. Fresh off the early-April release of the iPad tablet, rumors are swirling about the next version of the iPhone. Tech blog Gizmodo is at the forefront of the speculation, breaking news on a potential release date, new features and upgraded social networking capabilities. Gizmodo's latest bombshell came Monday, when it released a video, photos and a detailed description of a next-generation iPhone reportedly found in a Redwood City, Calif. bar. If the iPhone Gizmodo got its hands on is the real deal, Apple enthusiasts have a lot to look forward to this summer. The phone reportedly features a video chat camera, an improved still camera (with flash), a more crisp display, a second microphone and some aesthetic changes, among others. Assuming Gizmodo unveiled Apple's closely guarded secrets, the specs and features of the next-generation iPhone will probably stay under lock and key until its release date in June or July. But we doubt Apple will be able to — or want to — stifle the hype surrounding its newest creation. Check out videos, photos and details on the next-gen iPhone at Gizmodo.

When the iPhone was released, the concept of mobile advertising was so young, people were still shocked by the thought of experiencing full, rich websites on a mobile device. Now that the iPhone has been out for a couple of years and competitors such as HTC and Google have expanded the market, advertisers were quick to look for ways to advertise to a consumer that connected and engaged with one platform.

Ever since we saw Blade Runner, we’ve been waiting for a futuristic car that flies, self-navigates, or at least has a neat heads up display. While we might have to wait a little longer for the first two, GM has announced that it is teaming up with university researchers to bring us an augmented reality windshield that provides important roadway information right on the glass. The first question that you might be asking is, won't that be distracting? Maybe, but not any more distracting than constantly looking at a map or a GPS, which GM hopes its new system will replace. In addition, the display can show important information such as upcoming road conditions, obstacles, as well as to help point out signs and lanes in fog or other poor driving conditions.

Mobile, mobile, mobile. I cannot remember the last time I had a conversation, read a tech article (or any article for that matter) that did not include some form of mobile interaction or discussion. I feel very fortunate to be where I am during a time when an industry has literally done a 180 and is now become the leading medium to for almost every new and existing industry. I love my smart phone and yes, it is an iPhone. The ability to experience fully rich desktop applications on my 3 inch monitor is pretty amazing. But as competition grows within the market, advertisers need to pay attention to things like market share.
