1965 Rolex Submariner Ad
September 14th, 2010
Continuing with the fashion themed posts, we wanted to pay respect to a classic print ad from Rolex. Over 45 years old, the 1965 ad perfectly projects what a Rolex Submariner represents, both capturing yesterdays audience and even more so – today’s.
Having a Mad Men feel to it, the simple ad shows the power of a Rolex to capture the eye of even the loveliest of women. This is the point, where we give props to the both hand models. Though the image alone captures the moment perfectly, the core message is nothing shot of genius. As we all know, 99.9% of people who own a Rolex never use any of the features the $7,000 price tag suggests, and in this case the Rolex marketing team makes a point to capitalize on it.
I think it does look quite stunning with a black suit and Martini, don’t you?
