Playboy TV Invades Brooklyn
August 23rd, 2010
Throughout late July and early August there have been murmurs of a reality TV show taking place right here in our very own Brooklyn. Some people found advertisements on craigslist while brightly colored flyers tucked away in corners of bars and concert halls caught the attention of others.
The show, said to be titled, “Brooklyn Kinda Love,” will follow four to six Brooklyn couples and document their daily struggles and successes. There has been very little buzz about this online, probably so that viewers will not to know what to expect if and when the documentary airs.
You maybe wondering where Playboy comes into the picture. Thanks to the close Brooklynite web community, we were able to find out some insider details. On the blog FREEwilliamsburg, one reader commented about her experience with the casting process:
“My boyfriend and I made it to the final 6. They never told us it was for playboy TV… it kind of came out unexpected. We pulled out because we felt mis-lead and could only imagine how much we still didn’t know. Each couple gets about 32K (or 16k per person) and filming starts tomorrow (wednesday). I have a good feeling the other 5 couples don’t even know its for playboy TV yet… Someone should send an alert that it’s a scam.”

Something tells us the producers of “Brooklyn Kinda Love” will not have any issues finding couples who will be more than willing to broadcast their love lives for the Playboy Channel audience. Will Brooklyn bring us the next Spiedi Pratt, Jon & Kate, insert any other reality TV couple you have fantasized about shipping to the moon here — let’s hope not.
