ABSOLUT, Spike Jonze / I’m Here
February 9th, 2010
Spike Jonze has to be the go to director right now. First you have “Where the Wild Things Are”, followed by Kanye West’s little video and now this. Vodka Giant, Absolut has partnered with Jonze to develop what looks to be the definition of true branded content.
The 30 minute short film, entitled “I’M HERE” is a tale about two robots living in LA.
After viewing the trailer, AD:60 quickly submitted their names to hopefully get a sneak peak of the full length when it is released in March.
Lately, we have seen a number of brands releasing branded video content and it seems the days of product driven entertainment is slowly taking a back see to content creation. Jonze commented on the collaboration by saying, “Absolut didn’t give me any requirements to make a movie that had anything to do with vodka. They just wanted me to make something that was important to me, and let my imagination take me wherever I wanted“. And taken it has Mr. Jonze, because ‘I’m Here’ has already scored entries to a number of festivals including Sundance.
